Glorifying God

“I have glorified You on earth by accomplishing the work You gave Me to do.” John 17:4 BSB

In modern church we tend to look at glorifying God as an act of of worship within the the congregation of the saints. Whether solemn or exuberant acts of worship we ofttimes consider this the highest means of glorifying the Father. But Jesus presents a different take on glorifying the Father in the midst of his prayer (the true Lord’s Prayer) in John 17.🤔 He says, “I have glorified You on earth by accomplishing the work You gave Me to do.”

Accomplishing God’s purpose for your life is perhaps the highest glorification one can offer God the Father while here on earth. The simplicity of accomplishing “the work” he has for you to do. Each one of us has a specific design for our lives that is tailor-made just for us to do. God has a plan for you to glorify Him by doing what he designed for you to do. Finding God’s will in your life is rare in modern Christiandom, but actually doing God’s will for your life is even more rare.🤔 Jesus spoke of “accomplishing the work You gave me to do” as a means of glorifying Him on earth. May each of you be successful in finding God’s will and doing it. Amen!
