“Then Jesus went home, and once again a crowd gathered, so that He and His disciples could not even eat. When His family Heard it, they went out to take custody of Him, saying, “He is out of His mind.” And the scribes who had come down from Jerusalem were saying, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and, “By the prince of the demons He drives out demons.” Mark 3:20-22 Berean Standard Bible

Jesus had been ministering around Galilee, and after seeing many healed and delivered from unclean spirits he decides to go home. But when He sat at supper with His disciples a crowd disrupted His meal. Then it says that His family went out to take custody of Him for they said, “He is out of His mind.” No doubt they were influenced by the Pharisee crowd. By this time Jesus had already began to cause a great stir in Judea. His family at this time did not believe in Him. This probably included cousins, brothers, uncles, who knows who all else. Many of you know what this feels like when your real experience in Christ upsets the religious equilibrium in your own family. They think you’ve gone to far or they think you’re out of your mind. When their lack of true experience in God dictate what they deem to be expectable limitations. If your spiritual reality in Christ has put you at odds with your family well welcome to Jesus’s world. In the words of John McLain, “Welcome to the party pal!” Nobody and I mean Nobody told you, you would be mister popular if you intend to go deep with the Father. One, you need to lose your man-pleasing spirit. Two, you need to lose the need to be liked. Somebody needs to tell you that, “If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” John 2:15.

Somebody needs to say, “Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me.” Matt. 10:37. Wow… seems extreme doesn’t it.🤔 Pastor Rusty
