part 5 of a 7 part series on “Removing the Small Things”- Pastor Belinda🌷

Scripture:

“But I tell you that for every careless word that people speak, they will give an account of it on the day of judgment.” — Matthew 12:36, NASB

Words may seem small, but they carry great weight. Gossip, complaining, or negativity can erode faith and relationships. God calls us to use our words for building up, not tearing down.

It can be easy to allow a critical spirit to move in. It will have you focusing on everything that happens in so much that you will be swaying flies right and left! You will see evil and bad intent even when there isn’t any. Watch over your spirit. If you see this happening to you beware of the author of it. Address him in the name of Jesus and command the spirit of complaint and discontent to go! My grandfather used to say “you can’t keep a bird from flying over your head, but you can keep him from building a nest there!”

Let me pray with you.

Lord, set a guard over my lips. Let my words bring life, encouragement, and truth. Show me when I am opened up to a critical spirit. Help me to bring peace not discontent! In Jesus name! Amen!
