I had a vision and in the vision I saw the feet of a person. I thought is that Jesus? Then I heard it’s Paul when he was set free. Light came and busted shackles that had bound his feet.

The Lord then said “ Setting someone free is NEVER for not!”

Then I heard the Lord say “He who the son sets free is free indeed!”

John 8:36

King James Version

36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Free Indeed

Scripture (KJV):

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” — John 8:36

There is a freedom that the world promises—but never fully delivers. It offers escape, distraction, and temporary relief. But Jesus speaks of something deeper, something eternal: true freedom. You don’t want to place a patch on the problem you want to dug up the cause and completely remove it!

In this verse, the word “free” comes from the Greek word ἐλευθερόω (eleutheroō) — meaning to liberate, to set at liberty, to release from bondage or slavery. This is not a surface-level change; it is a breaking of chains at the root.

Jesus is declaring that He Himself is the source of that liberation. Not religion. Not self-effort. Not time. But the Son.

The phrase “free indeed” intensifies the promise. The word “indeed” is translated from the Greek ὄντως (ontōs) — meaning truly, certainly, in reality. In other words, this is not partial freedom. It is not fragile freedom. It is absolute, undeniable, and complete. This is only available thru the blood of Jesus!

From Bondage to Liberty

Before Christ, Scripture teaches that humanity is in bondage—to sin, fear, and death. The Hebrew concept of freedom in the Old Testament often uses the word דְּרוֹר (deror) — meaning liberty, release, flowing freedom, as seen in Jubilee (Leviticus 25:10). It was a divine reset—slaves released, debts canceled, inheritance restored.

Jesus fulfills and surpasses that picture.

He is our living Jubilee.

When He sets you free:

• The guilt of sin is broken

• The power of sin is defeated

• The identity of slavery is replaced

You are not just freed from something—you are freed into something: sonship, righteousness, and communion with God.

“Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free…” (Galatians 5:1, KJV)

The choice should always be for freedom. Just like the vision as the Lord exploded the chains off of Paul He wants to set you free.

Lord, please help us to choose freedom every time!

Facing our bondage can be hard but the freedom that comes from breaking our chains is priceless!
