Let's look over the next few days in my blog at ways we can experience the presence of the Lord. What can we do to draw Him to us.
When we love someone we find ways to please them. We find what they like and enjoy and we provide that to them. In turn they are pleased and respond back to us. We see this in relationships between couples. I have seen some of y'all cater to your pets and in return your pet jumps in your lap wagging their tail responding to your gesture of love. Even more so this happens in the relationship between you and God your Heavenly Father. So let's look at some of the things that will cause God's presence to show up.
I want His presence to be where I pray, where I worship, and where I live!
Scripture reveals that God is omnipresent (He is everywhere), yet there is also His manifest presence—those moments when His nearness is revealed in a tangible way. Throughout the Bible, certain attitudes and actions consistently accompany the manifestation of God’s presence.
First we are going to look at
Worship and Praise 🎶🎵🎼
Praise is one of the clearest invitations to the manifest presence of God. Psalm 22:3 (KJV) says “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.”
The Hebrew word yashab means to sit, dwell, remain, or be enthroned. As God’s people sincerely worship Him, Scripture describes Him as enthroning Himself among their praises.
Here are some examples of that:
* Jehoshaphat’s army praised before the battle (2 Chronicles 20), and God fought for them.
* Paul and Silas worshiped in prison (Acts 16), and God’s power shook the prison.
*
Think about that! Your worship can draw God's presence to you! We see this over and over where heart felt praise goes up and the glory comes down. Do you know what I am talking about when I say we experience His presence? It's when you are worshipping and you feel something like a breeze flow over you, but there is no breeze. Or you feel your heart move in your chest and you feel light like angels are walking among you. I have also felt it come like waves. Like standing in the ocean and the waves splash on you. When His presence comes into the room things change! Hearts are healed, sometimes bodies are healed, burdens are lifted, and minds are restored! When God's presence shows up nothing is impossible!
We need His presence! Let's cater to Him! He is our guest of honor!
Let's pray;
Jesus we love you! We need you! Holy Spirit, we need your presence! Father God, we love you and invite You to come among us. Change our hearts. Heal our wounds! Show us how to worship with a true heart before You. Amen.♥️🎵🎶
