“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” — James 4:7 (KJV)

There is great power in surrender—not the kind the world understands, but a holy surrender that brings victory. The moment we stop striving in our own strength and lay everything at the feet of Jesus, His Lordship begins to take full effect in our lives. Surrender is not giving up; it is giving over—our will, our plans, and our ways—to the One who knows best.

I see so many people come to me needing deliverance for a torment, an affliction, or an addiction and once they walk into complete surrender the enemy must leave! Complete surrender makes it impossible for the enemy to stay. It’s the open door of un-surrendered issues that allows the enemy to remain. You want to be totally and completely surrendered!

Many of us wrestle with situations, people, or habits that seem impossible to break. We try to fix ourselves, discipline ourselves, or hide our struggles, but the truth is that freedom only comes when we surrender. The moment we say, “Jesus, You are Lord,” heaven takes notice. His authority begins to reign in every area that once held us captive.

When Jesus shed His blood on the cross, He didn’t just purchase forgiveness—He purchased freedom. Every stronghold that has bound your heart, your mind, or your soul can be broken through His blood. The blood of Jesus still speaks today—it declares deliverance, redemption, and restoration. When we surrender, His blood goes to work, cutting off the enemy’s access and cleansing the ground of our hearts so that His Spirit can dwell there freely. No strongholds!

True surrender is an act of trust. It says, “Lord, even if I don’t understand, I know You are good.” It’s in that place that strongholds lose their grip. The enemy thrives on control, but when we give control to Jesus, we take away his power.

Let’s pray,

Lord Jesus, I surrender every part of my life to You. I lay down my will and invite You to be Lord over all that I am. Thank You for Your precious blood that breaks every stronghold and sets me free. Teach me to rest in Your power and trust in Your plan. Reign in me completely, that Your glory may be seen in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen!
