“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

— 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV

Fear has a way of circling back like an unwanted visitor. You’ve already been delivered. You’ve already stepped into faith. Yet fear still knocks, hoping you forgot who lives in the house now. Over the years we have found dealing with people who have been delivered that the demons always come back around. They check to see if you have kept the doors shut. It is scriptural you can find it in Matthew 12:43-45. Or have you left the place open for their return.

Paul reminds Timothy that fear is not from God. The word fear here is deilia (δειλία) — meaning cowardice, timidity, shrinking back. It is not just an emotion; it is a spirit that tries to influence how you think and act. But Scripture is clear: God did not give it to you. So let’s not allow it to come back.

Instead of fear God gave you:

• Power — dynamis (δύναμις): divine ability, not human strength.

• Love — agapē (ἀγάπη): steady, covenant love that casts out fear.

• A sound mind — sōphronismos (σωφρονισμός): disciplined, self-controlled, stable thinking. That means fear is an illegal resident in your life. It may knock with memories, symptoms, or “what ifs,” but it has no right to enter.

Fear is a spirit you no longer belong to. You changed kingdoms. You changed masters. You changed identities. The old you no longer lives.

When fear knocks, you don’t have to argue with it. You rebuke it in the name of Jesus! He has to flee!

Speak it out when fear tries to return:

“Fear, you are not from God. You are not mine. I live by the Spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. I rebuke you in Jesus name! Get out of here!”

It’s the blood of Jesus that gives us power to deal with any and all demons! Jesus defeated them on the cross. When you stay under the covering of Jesus you have nothing to fear!

Jesus, I pray peace and a sound mind over those reading this. I speak to fear and I remind you that you have been evicted in Jesus name! Amen!
