“So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take away sickness from among you.” Exo. 23:25 BSB

I love the assurance in this passage that reveals “cause and effect.” Basically, if you will do this, I will do that. That, being, “I will bless your bread and your water… and I will remove sickness from you.”🧐 Quid pro quo.🧐 If you will serve me? This of course is the Old Covenant… BUT! If the New is better… a better covenant built on better promises we should have, at least, equal expectation to the promise if not better expectations under the new.🤔 If YHWH was willing to bless our bread and bless our water and remove sickness from our camp under the Old Covenant… How much more under the new?🤔 Three simple but powerful benefits… Blessed bread, Blessed water, removal of sickness.💥

Some of the new translations render this to say, “Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.” Exo. 23:25. “Serving” has been replaced with “worship”. Late Hebrew עָבַד (abad’) to serve or to perform acts of worship! (Brown-Driver-Briggs). Don’t underestimate the role worship plays in both your mental and physical health. It put the universe in perspective. You are the creation, He is the creator, and He is worthy of all worship. There are benefits to worship as well as serving that come without asking. All you have to do is worship and He (YHWH) will fight your battles. Pastor Rusty
